I haven't heard or seen it mentioned in my usual news sources, but I did find one thing with worries that Russia might be violating the traditional Olympic/Paralympic truce.  Athletes have already started arriving in Sochi, to have time to settle in before the opening ceremonies on Friday. The US team site has nothing but cheerful information about the sports and athletes.

I dunno; having vets and their friends over there could be a feature rather than a flaw.

(My son just arrived in Germany to his new posting; I wonder how long 'till we're sending our troops to Kiev.)

Of the 17 guys on the men's sled hockey team, only four are veterans, and one of them lost his leg in a motorcycle crash after he got back from war. (there is a documentary about them that aired on PBS). Overall, 18/80 of team USA are military types. Presumably lots of the countries have at least that many.
I sure hope we don't go to war with Russia, after avoiding it all those years.
