Arthur had a standard joke that many of his physical woes began when the warranty ran out at age 40. I'm beginning to think that some sort of anti-warranty was renewed on my birthday. On the way back from Vancouver I sat for hours clutching a paperback and did the same thing the next day, to the point that my forearms ached and my hands were cramped. Mostly it's better, but the left forearm still has twinges. I noticed Friday night that the knuckle in my right thumb had gone weird. I don't know how to describe it better. It objects to being entirely straight or entirely bent, but is OK in between. I don't remember jamming it or anything. I thought it was swollen, but I've decided that maybe my right thumb is just bigger than my left thumb and I never noticed it before. On the other hand, the bruised toes from walking into the security table while my shoes were being x-rayed at the Columbus airport are fine now.
During ringing on Sunday I got a stitch in my side. What the heck? It's not like I was breathing heavily or exercising much. It went away as soon as I stopped ringing.
Beginning yesterday morning I've had pain in my left knee. It's a dull ache mostly, but walking down stairs or running are problematic. I'm afraid it was something I did in a tap class, and it's an unfortunate time, because I can't really rest it until Sunday. It's also surprising, because my usual tap pain is down and to the left of the knee, although I do get some patella area tenderness from a couple of tai chi moves. I haven't figured out exactly what causes the lateral almost to the calf pain, other than that it seems to be tap related. Shuffles? Flaps?
While I was standing in Borders today I got a sharp pain in my right hip flexor area, and then the left joined in.
And the usual stuff with the left shoulder is still there. What a mess.

Still, many of my other systems seem to be working fine (knock wood). I thought this was excellently worded, from the blog
http://jesusfavorite.typepad.com/ (which I think should be Jesus's favorite, but I'm not her editor).

there are all sorts of games. I didn't like the drag and drop organs so much, but found it unreasonably entertaining to move the leg using quadriceps and stuff like that. (it's late. I really need to sleep. I expect I'm getting punchy).
