small moments of happiness

lauradi7dwI have a collection of objects on my desk, most of which are things my daughter left behind and doesn't want. One of those is a small troll doll, like this one

Usually she wears a pink sun dress, rather than being naked. I absent-mindedly stroke her hair, but don't pay much attention otherwise. Yesterday, for a project that didn't end up happening, I swaddled her in a soft cloth. Having her torso covered made her face seem more distinctive, and even more endearing than usual. I looked at her, and smiled. Multiple times throughout the day. I have hundreds of objects and many other pleasures, but it's good to know that a little one like that keeps working.
I am pretty sure Flo got that one in the 1990s, but somewhere I have the bald body of a smaller one (the hair has fallen out) from the 1960s, when they first were marketed.
