Electronics shopping with the old folks
Jan. 30th, 2020 04:00 pmI wanted a keyboard to go with the iPad. I think half the time I spend on Duolingo, which I do on the pad, is correcting typing errors. The scoring program sometimes recognizes typos as such, but mostly counts them as errors, and makes me re-do the question. I went into the Apple store at the mall at about 11 AM, and except for two separate Dad and Kid pairs, all of the customers were older than me (not necessarily grayer, as I am old-looking myself). Same thing happened in the Best Buy. Probably it's just the time of day - some of us don't drive at night, and younger people are at work then midday. Just one more example of the absurdity of complaining about Boomers not coping with technology. People our age invented a lot of it, and apparently, people our age buy lots of it.
(I went for the Logitech wireless Bluetooth k780). (Have I ever mentioned that we saw a wax figure of Harald Bluetooth in a museum in Copenhagen in 1987? Hard not to think of him when wafting information around).
