moth balls
Feb. 7th, 2020 03:39 pmKnitting group has a yarn exchange at the December party, people bringing unused and presumably never to be used stuff from stash, and switching it around. At some point I got some cranberry colored wool, which I (not surprisingly) made into a hat for Thanksgiving. I must have always worn it on dry days in the past. Today is wear red day https://www.goredforwomen.org/ and I wanted to wear a red hat while running in the drizzle. I don't have a red hat, so I decided that cranberry colored would do. After a while of getting wetter and wetter, the hat started smelling of mothballs. I have no idea whose household uses them for knitting wool, but yuck. I have left it out on the porch for the time being.
