not what I expected
Mar. 20th, 2020 06:49 pmI am the contact person for each of my parents' online medical accounts. I got a notification from my mother's doctor's office, and logged in, expecting some sort of COVID-19 update. But no - it was a warning not to park in the designated handicap plate spaces, as a flock of Canada geese (which they called Canadian) have set up shop in that area, and have been pecking patients. People with assistive devices need to be dropped off at the front door, and the car parked in another part of the lot.
We went to bed last night concerned about rumors of all planes being grounded. I got to sleep, but woke up in the middle of the night (not uncommon for me) and spent a very long time lying awake, trying to resign myself to going to NC right away and staying for the duration. The previous plan had been that I would start skipping my biweekly visits and just go fast when either a parent or a caregiver gets sick, because the agency pre-emptively let us know that they don't have enough subs to take over if some of the regulars get sick. But then today's Trump Rally (um, virus update) made it clear that it is still foreigners that the administration is worried about, so maybe domestic travel won't be totally shut down.
