one more missed experience
May. 15th, 2020 01:36 pmWe had tentatively thought to spend last night in St. George, UT, from which we would drive to the airport. At 4 AM their time this morning, there was a 6.5 earthquake centered at Tonopah, NV. That is 300 miles from St Goerge, but I'd guess one could feel it. I have been in a place with an earthquake at least three times - once in NC, when I was a kid, and twice here. In none of those times did I really feel shaking, but something must have fallen down in the garage in the earliest one, because my father went running to see if something had happened. At the time one of the them was detectable to people in Massachusetts a few years ago, I was on a bus, and if I felt shaking, I must have ascribed it to the bus rumbling along.
