Normally, this weekend in July would be the Lowell Folk Festival. It's not there, so we're not there. I wouldn't be there anyway, because this is only day 9 of the 14 day quarantine. Of course, if people were healthy enough for there to be a festival, I wouldn't need to quarantine. Kind of circular.

That's something I do every year. Something I've wondered about but never done is San Diego Comic Con. It's online too, and it is free. I have watched part or all of five panels (some archived, some live) and gone through the Masquerade entries on Tumblr (login not required).

Meanwhile, Jocelyn IS in San Diego... We'll be spending the whole day camping in the "get a covid test" line the day after she arrives. What a mess.

How is her timing? Will she be in and out before the fines hit people who aren't quarantining? Or are you getting one of the quick tests and hoping for a speedy negative result on paper in less than the time she'll be around? I got mail results in four days when I had the nasal swab done several weeks ago, but I have heard of much slower result arrivals lately.

We're hoping for a negative result on a quick test the day after she arrives. We can't wait for the "get results days later" test. She's only home for 8 days. She's got enough organizing and packing to do in her room that a couple days won't be wasted time. I guess we'll have to do her laundry for her. :-)

Obviously if she has a positive result all her plans go out the window and she has to actually quarantine, cancel her flight to Reed, etc.
