Women make film
Sep. 15th, 2020 01:33 pmTCM is running, on Tuesday nights (tonight!), a 13 part series called Women Make Film

Each episode is divided into chapters, and each chapter focuses on an aspect of film making, with examples from many films. Is it actually a class, to teach us film-making? I can't say for sure, but it's possible. It's very interesting to watch, and listen to, with Tilda Swinton as the voiceover person. I have only seen a few of the films from which the clips were taken. Additionally, TCM is showing films featured in an episode overnight after each episode airs. Similarly, I've seen maybe 25-30% of those. The schedule is on the site
https://womenmakefilm.tcm.com/schedule/ For example, of tonight's films, I have only seen "Harlan County" and "Strangers in good company." I've been very impressed at the amount of clip wrangling that must go on for each episode. In a smaller way, Arthur has a niece who does review videos online, and those also have astounding numbers of clips. Hard work all 'round.
