supplemental oxygen
Oct. 5th, 2020 11:03 amCan the news people stop harping on the president getting "supplemental oxygen?" I understand that a drop in his pulse oxygenation could be important news, but it's my impression that people are sometimes given O2 through a nose cannula for no good reason sometimes. When my father broke his clavicle, they kept him in the hospital for a couple of days (wasn't clear to me why, at the time), and for the first day, they gave him supplemental oxygen until I asked the doctor if it was needed. Answer: no. Doctor removed it. It's one of the things that is automatic during a colonoscopy, too, but that's surgery, I guess.
