She's old, and wearing purple

When I saw the photo of Queen Elizabeth at the Diana memorial service yesterday


I thought of the poem "When I get old I'll wear purple."

She looks older in that picture than usual. Maybe it's because not wearing her glasses makes her
look like her mother. I don't know why she chose purple.
Maybe she was trying to make a fashion statement in tribute to her late ex-daughter-in-law.
My nicest suit, which I sometimes wear to funerals, is purple, although even with boxes full of hats I don't own anything like that.

That'd be my vote. There's more style in that outfit than in anything else I've ever seen her in. Not that that's saying much, mind you.

Aha!! I knew the title of this post reminded me of something, but I couldn't remember what. It's the Blues Brothers! "It's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses."
