second-guessing Covid vaccines

I got a Novavax in December. By my age, I could have gotten a booster a couple of months ago. I really don't expect anything in the US to be updated, although a couple of medical people have seemed confident that there will at least be new flu shots this fall. A friend just tested positive for Covid yesterday, so I have been reminded that I should do something. Today? Try to track down Novavax again, or take an mRNA shot while we still can?

I haven't seen anything with new boosters come about as I'm doing my Pharmacy thing, so not a lot of hope there. But here's hoping we'll get new vaccines soon! We're definitely due, though with the Orange Menace in office, I don't see them coming anytime soon.

The pharmacy intern at CVS expects new versions by the end of September. I don't know if this is wishful thinking or what, but I will wait for a little while.

I don't know how good your source is, but I'll take any plausible info I can get right now. My insurance changes in October; I'm thinking maybe I should arrange my jabs before that change. Sad when I have to time medical decisions based on payment issues.

My worry is that he's just guessing the Covid shots will be ready at about the same time as the flu shots (as has been true in the past). We'll see.

He's not guessing - or he is. But today Moderna announced mNEXSPIKE, their updated COVID vaccine.
