This morning [personal profile] sovay mentioned Byker In the context of a song title
https://sovay.dreamwidth.org/1610739.html
The song wasn't Byker Hill, but that's what I thought of, specifically the 1965 Young Tradition version

I have the LP, but youtube is faster. Then the phone youtube autoplayed their version of "Chicken on a raft." In restaurant slang, that's an egg on toast. Not what the song seems to be about. I remembered a conversation with [personal profile] negothick about the speed of singing chanteys

I thought about HeiHei, the fowl from Moana

That isn't it either. The song they're singing is a cover of one by Cyril Tawney, according to wikipedia.

That was one of the first songs I ever heard by the Young Tradition. I love that entire EP.
