I took the first photo on Sunday August 8, 2021. It might be part of Lynn Street, or an alley at the Cross Street end of Stillman? I know where it is, but am not doing a good job of describing it.
I used the camera on my flip phone, and texted the photo to Arthur, who emailed it to me so I could use the iPad's photo stuff. It was easier to turn it into B&W. If there is a way to sepia-ize it, it wasn't obvious to me. I don't have the skill (or software?) to get rid of the window AC.
The other photo is from about 1900. I found it online. The street looks like Cooper to me, but might be Prince.
I found one I liked even better that was on someone's Pinterest page, but I couldn't figure out how to copy it.
People noted modern things in the new photo, but what I like best is the laundry. In both cases there are clotheslines between two buildings, but in the new photo, there are several t-shirts, or maybe polo shirts. The old clothes look like old clothes - long stockings, what might be under drawers, maybe pajamas (which aren't so different).
