i love this image

It's an Ethiopic manuscript (~1875, scribe unknown) from the UCLA digital collections.
I found it when I was looking up Ge'ez on wikipedia.
I was looking up Ge'ez because two people in the chat on a zoom talk about manuscripts visible in some of the Star Wars offshoots said that Aurebesh reminded them of Ge'ez.
I'm not convinced, and really doubt that alphabet inventor Stephen Crane (no, not that Stephen Crane) had an an old Ethiopian alphabet in mind.

For reasons that are not clear to me, I can't get the Ge'ez sample I like to imbed. After four tries, I give up.
And of course any reminder that it's May the 4th makes me think of the murders at Kent State in 1970.
