yard objects

I mostly stopped following the Red Sox this summer after a week with two brawls (I stopped after the first one), but I watched a couple of minutes of Thursday's game (one of several) visiting Oakland.   I noticed an ad for Coco Crisp Garden Gnome day.  I have to presume the timing was meant as a poke at the Red Sox, for whom he played in the past.  It's an interesting choice.  I think a garden gnome is a more useful object than a bobble head, but maybe that's just the opinion of someone with a plastic goose in the back yard.  I used to have a large plastic penguin, but it was stolen years ago. The pink flamingos are in the attic, safely away from plastic yard bird thieves, but not very decorative.  The plastic owl that used to hang from the gutter on the south side of the house (supposedly to keep birds from nesting there) fell down, and now lounges near the goose.
