Are those people who started their own sourdough an stuff putting up summer vegetables in jars? I suddenly thought that we should be doing it right now, when the farmer's market is so flush with goodness, but would hate to deal with botulism if I messed up.
I have had the sweep and furnace maintenance people come, so that part of getting ready for winter is done.

Argh, Amazon again
Aug. 25th, 2020 01:34 pmI would like to buy the audio version of Maria Dahvana Headley's new translation of Beowulf, read by JD Jackson. It's on Audible, which is owned by Amazon. I don't know that downloading digits is putting the lives of warehouse workers at risk, but I don't want to put money into Bezos's pocket. What to do? I could buy the physical book, but I don't getting Arthur to read it to me is likely.
Listen to the first five minutes - some of it is jarring, but most of it is fabulous. No login needed.
