The woman in front of me in line at the Goodwill was recounting to her friend her SO's offer of a fancy Valentine's day dinner. Her response: "I don't want to gaze into your eyes for an hour, and I don't want to spend a hundred dollars on a dinner we could make at home." The friend asked what they were doing instead, and she said they are planning a trip to Kelly's Roast Beef at Revere Beach, which is what they really both want. Presumably a roast beef sandwich with deep fried sides is not something they could make at home.
