Somehow, the leaves are more dazzling now then they were at the usual peak display time. Is it an effect of the snow? Probably not. The pinkish bushes at the Kendall Square end of 3rd Street, the gold of our Japanese maple, the rosy glow of the maple tree next door, the dull red of its neighboring dogwood. Lots and lots of color. And there are rose blooms in the Public Garden. A little odd, but it was a pleasant day to be outdoors jogging along the river before the dentist and walking to the T afterwards. (the bad news is that there is a cavity at the edge of one of my gold crowns. The crown will have to be cut off, so they can look underneath and investigate the size of the cavity).

This year's weird fall seems to have confused some of the trees; they don't seem to be as well synchronized in color/leaf falling as other years. Maybe the best trees waited til last. I saw a spectacular yellow tree today, it was backlit by the sunset and surrounded by a sea of orange/red/brown trees.

There were people taking photographs of that fabulous rose-tinted arbor along Broadway next to Third. It was, indeed, pretty stunning.
