some things make me happy
Jan. 31st, 2012 06:36 pmI was walking down the sidewalk near Porter Square station at 11:45 this morning and overheard a man singing Lesley Gore's "Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows" in full voice. It was a hit in 1965. He didn't look old enough to remember it from then.
The Barada Restaurant is offering raffle chances (to benefit Diabetes Research, their usual
charity) on a super bowl platter, featuring "a trio of dips (Hoummos, Baba Ghannouj and Labany bil toum), an assortment of vegetables and crunchy pita!" For some reason the idea of football fans sitting around eating relatively healthy Lebanese fare amuses me, although as they note,
"you do not need to be having a superbowl party to enjoy this platter."
I'm on their email list because they occasionally make pumpkin kibby, and send out advance warning when they are going to do so.
