lauradi7dw Nothing against Transportation secretary Foxx, who would have become president if everybody else died last night, but I'm glad that all the government officials were unharmed. It's almost jokey that they leave one designated survivor when everybody else on the succession list is in one room. If someone/some organization managed to take the obvious step to destroy the US by bombing the SOTU speech crowd, having one fairly obscure person left might not be enough. Props to Laura Roslin, but she's fictional.
I listened to most of the speech on the radio while watching the twitter feed. It was an interesting way to do it. One person tweeted this photo, RBG entering, with her boredom-fighting newspaper:
It wasn't enough - there was also a photo of her napping later on, but she was alert and clapping at the end.
