Also, on TV - "The Expanse"  I've been watching it on TV, but it's available on syfy.com
It's not a cheerful happy show, but it seems more likely to me than most things set in the future.  Also, as a coincidence of the day, today's APOD is Ceres, one of several locations on The Expanse. http://www.planetary.org/multimedia/space-images/small-bodies/color-global-view-of-ceres-haulani.html

I had designated today and tomorrow as my clothes sorting/donating days, but it's already basically lunch time and I haven't even started, plus I need to go to the post office.  I still am intrigued by Marie Kondo's idea about only keeping objects that "spark joy," but anybody with any sense realizes that there are things one needs that don't do that. Or maybe if I were more mindful, I'd be made joyful by things that seem useful but not special otherwise.  At any rate, I'm already having trouble with the disconnect.  For example, I have a skirt that looks fairly nice and has great pockets (a notable good thing for a skirt), but it's a little too short for my taste, leaving some thigh skin touching the chair/bench/whatever when I sit down, which also means it feels immodest when I squat to pick something up.  So - do I keep it for the pockets, or give it away?  I'm leaning toward the second choice, but other skirts I have with comparably good features are too tight in the waist, or have a broken zipper or a ravelling hem.  I guess a choice would be to lose weight, plus make do and mend. I think Arthur would say to give them all away and get new.  That's not my choice.
