Not the most effective advertising
Mar. 4th, 2016 12:35 pm Nike commissioned a web series about two sisters, one of whom is a fitness vlogger, the other who doesn't like to exercise.
trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2i365pUONE (note - skin colors differ. The sisters were adopted).
There are non-disguised tie-ins to Nike clothing and equipment, and to their workout aps. I presume they are a form of advertising, and viewers are meant to rush out to acquire the advertised products. It backfired in my case - I was planning to run yesterday afternoon, but instead spent the time binging on episodes 1-5, by which time it was too dark. I ran today, but don't feel any need to buy matching Nike tights and tops. I am intrigued by the shoes the company released yesterday, though (not featured in the series). http://www.runnersworld.com/the-shoe-room/exclusive-first-run-nike-lunar-epic
Recently, I did buy something for running that may be the most expensive garment (other than shoes) I can remember buying: http://sparkleskirts.com/collections/featured-products/products/hikerchic-gardenparty-long-style?variant=14872312708 Comfortable, pockety, pretty. Still, it cost about what a monthly T pass costs. That's a lot.
