a culinary experience
May. 27th, 2016 09:12 pmThere is a booth at Alewife station with hot dogs, pretzels, Indian food, and flowers. Yesterday I noticed a thing that I hadn't seen before. It was a white bread sandwich filled with a mixture of paneer, potatoes, and spices, battered and deep fried. Contrary to all expectation from anyone who knows me, I bought one, and ate about half of it. I hardly ever eat deep fried anything, and it is my experience with food from that booth that almost anything they sell with potatoes has so much cayenne pepper that the potatoes are tasteless. It was true of this item as well, although from time to time I got a bit of plain paneer flavor. If it makes it any better, I had had sugar snap peas and a cucumber for breakfast, so at least some nutrition was in my system.
