lauradi7dwAfter the post the other day, a friend challenged me to do the same close reading while thinking of Hillary Clinton as a candidate. It is certainly true that she would maintain a standing army in peacetime. I haven't really forgiven her for voting as a senator to invade Iraq. Her hawkishness is a big potential problem. Otherwise, I don't think she aspires to despotism, in any of the George III aspects. She spent a dozen years being President-adjacent (first lady and Sec of State)and presumably has a good idea about what a president can and cannot do, so she doesn't make off-the-cuff promises.
I hope the FBI's conclusion about irresponsible use of her servers and email will make her more careful, and will bring an end to the stupid disingenuous comments she makes about being technologically challenged. They are not believable, to begin with, and if she is as smart as she seems to be (and wants us to think she is), she could take a weekend off and get intensive instruction on whatever it is that she doesn't understand.
