I noticed in the Globe the other day a blurb about a living history day at Fort Devens this coming Saturday, with WWII re-enactors. I have been aware that they exist, but have never seen any except for the WWII-era civilian re-enactor we met at the Bennett Place Memorial Day event a couple of years ago. I looked at the calendar. Saturday is August 6th. Is the re-enactment going to include dropping an atomic bomb in the middle of Massachusetts? Am I I the only one who finds it creepy that WWII stuff is happening on Hiroshima memorial day? For all I know, the first Saturday of the month is their regular day, but the timing seems unfortunate.
