The Russians are coming etc

lauradi7dwNot talking about one of my favorite movies of the mid-1960s (or possibly ever, really).
I saw a tweet the other day in which the writer imagined Philip and Elizabeth Jennings (the protagonists of "The Americans," the ongoing TV series about a Soviet couple deep under cover in the US in the 1980s) high-fiving at the election of Donald Trump. At this point, I am almost inclined to believe that Trump was a similar plant. 2/3 of his wives have been from Soviet satellites (I don't know of any commie links for Marla Maples), he is pals with Putin, and his proposed Secretary of State also has close (business) ties with Russia. I wish I could think of some way this will not make things worse in Syria - we aren't exactly on Russia's side (which is to say, Assad's side) now, not that we are doing anything to end the slaughter.
