Girl Scouts together

lauradi7dwI was sad to hear about Carrie Fisher, and decided to go back to the idea of dressing up at General Organa for the February Disney Princess race I plan to run. I meant to check the airplane yesterday to see whether there was a defibrillator, but I forgot. I will have lots more chances, as I fly at least four times a month.
Yesterday, when Debbie Reynolds died, what popped to mind was a record (an EP, as it turned out, when I looked it up) she made for Girl Scouts. It was 1966, and it was called "Follow the Piper." The B side was "White coral bells." I don't know whether or not she was multi-tracked so that she could sing all the parts of the round. I remembered her being in a GS leader uniform in the publicity at the time. Wikipedia confirmed that she led the troop in which Carrie and her step-sister were members in the mid-late 1960s, taking Friday afternoons off from the studio to do so. In the promise words "a sister to every other Girl Scout," I guess they were therefore my sisters as well.
I was surprised that Debbie (nee Mary Frances) was married at age 23, mother to Carrie a year later. I'm a year older than Carrie was, but my mother just turned 89, outliving Debbie by five years.
