Revolution in '77?
Feb. 8th, 2007 08:35 amI have become fixated with Sandi Thom's song "I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair."

I am gearing up for donating hair to Locks of Love again. I don't know that I could really pull off punk hair with flowers for the after cut style, though.
The line "In '77 and '69 revolution was in the air" confuses me. I understand about 1969, but what was so revolutionary about 1977? It was revolutionary for me personally - I lived in three states, had jobs at two extremely different workplaces, met Arthur, and saw the first Star Wars movie (I don't think it
was called Episode IV then, but maybe it was).
I suspect she means the appearance of albums by
The Clash and the Sex Pistols (especially because of the flyer on the post box), but I don't know. The Voyagers were launched that year.
There were protests against Anita Bryant for her campaigning homophobia. Steven Biko was murdered by guards in a South African jail. Probably every year is revolutionary in some way.
